Plant stems bending - no longer straight upward
Two of my three plants are just under a metre now but both are bending over.
I have moved their position in case they were leaning towards the sun but it seems to make no difference. I have a moisture meter which suggests that they are not too dry but not knowing just how wet they should be I am none the wiser. Do they need more water or is it the light? |

Re: Plant stems bending - no longer straight upward
I read somewhere once that too much nitrogen will produce "weak, watery, growth." I don't know about bananas, but in my palms the emerging leaf spikes suddenly began to bend over and actually crease in the middle. It took a while for the time-release fertilizer to go away, but after that, the problem went away.

It isn't uncommon for pstems to start leaning as they prepare to bloom -but I don't grow in pots - what variety are they?
