Hey guys! Been reading about this interesting cultivar - Pisang Lilin, seems to be an AA type with some resistances, I think the paper I was reading was discussing panama disease.
Just wondering what you all know about this variety, any stories or profiles or anything. Someone posted a review of the fruit , but the description and shape of the fruit doesn't match what the ITC genebank description is. The ITC page shows it as a double curve fruit similar to tu'u ghia. What do you all think? Love the AA varieties! Much love everyone! |

'Lidi' and 'Lilin' are closely related, but the accessions with those names in genebanks are slightly different, though in their place of origin (Indonesia) the names perhaps could be used interchangeably for one or more clones.
I think I've had 'Pisang Lilin' before, I don't remember anything remarkable about the flavor, but it was probably nice. They are both small, slender plants. Here are some photos 'Pisang Lilin' 'Pisang Lidi'
