Pisang Keling?

Just saw a video of a guy who said the Pisang Keling tastes like strwaberry shortcake. Anyone else know about this banana?

Re: Pisang Keling?

ok I found this on the wiki about Mysore, and the synonyms:
Musa Mysore - Bananas Wiki
so all those synonyms are supposed to be the same banana?
I know someone who has the Pisang Awok, and Agristarts sells the Ceylon. are they the same?
And I wonder if the Ceylon is really the Ceylon from Agristarts. I guess I should ask.

Pisang awak is Namwah which I find disgusting. Pisang ceylon I love. Taste like banana and pineapple.

Agristarts has these: 'Pisang Ceylon' (Mysore)

thinking about getting some. Got some before but sales didn't make it something I would do again, maybe I will.

You should get some of the new (Musa Dwarf Iholena). Agristarts is just starting to sell them this year!! I think they would sell great here, eBay, and elsewhere!

Go ahead and put me down for 2 if you do!!!

Not sure why nobody is selling these yet!
Should have a very short cycle!
Also taste amazing!!!
Very rare Musa until now! It's known as the Musa Ha'A Ha'A.
It's the dwarf variety of the Musa white iholena!!
I've heard it's one of the most beautiful varieties there is. Has a white look to the pstem.
My research shows they are in fact the real deal! Imagine that!!

No joke I could refer at least 6-7 buyers to you right now!

That explains why nobody is selling them! Let me know if you do. I would rather support you than someone else. Plus we will get the correct plant from you!

Ha'a Ha'a is different (shorter), and likely extinct.

Re: Pisang Keling?

Thank you rob! I had read that somewhere about the Ha'a Ha'a . That's really sad news to confirm!

Agristarts said they obtained this clone from HI. It wasn't from you was it? If not do you have any guesses of the source? Do you know many growers around you that grow it? I knew you grew a form of dwarf white iholena. I'm excited about this one and I'm really really hoping it is the correct variety.

Thanks for correcting me Rob. Any other info about the clone or knowledge/rumors about what agristarts acquired would be very helpful. I greatly respect you and would love to hear your thoughts. If not publicly PM me anytime!

I trade you a Pisang Ceylon for a Gros Michel/whatever you have if interested when you come over this week.

Sorry for the delayed response. I believe this is Mai'a Iholena aka Iholena Iholena and that Chris Carter also from the Big Island is the source of it.

Amazing info Rob! Thank you so much.

I’m excited to get one! I have the Logees TC also. I will grow the 2 side by side next year.

Thank you Sddarkman619 for making them available. Everyone please order from him if your looking for TC plants! You will get the correct plant through him and he is the ONLY TC seller I support for that reason.

Do you really think it's Ha'A Ha'A? That was supposed to be extinct. If it is the real deal I'd *really* like to get it. I *love* the taste of Iholena's. So far I've had Iholena Tigua, which is doing great. In fact, my place in 9B has a bunch right now. But the problem with it is that it is so TALL! I have a "dwarf Iholena" but it hasn't fruited for me yet.
