Pisang Jari Buaya

This is my 'Pisang Jari Buaya' ('Crocadile Fingers'), I think I planted it near the end of 2008 (still can't find the data on the exact date...). It's been rather vigorous, lots of pups produced, a nice looking first bunch too. The next bunch shouldn't be too far behind.

This is indeed a nice banana. I had commented in an earlier thread that the erect habit of the leaves is somewhat reminiscence of Fei.

Where are you located?

If you ever make it to Tampa I will give you one.

Re: Pisang Jari Buaya

I've just found the data about when I planted it.

It was planted on September 20th 2008 and began flowering on September 10th 2009, 355 days.

Hopefully they will be ready to harvest before I leave for winter break.

It is good for here, but the fastest plants (of different varieties) have been flowering at about 7-8 months after planting.

Yes, we grow PJB. It currently has a raceme on it with the telltale variegated bloom.

I will be sure to point it out next time you visit.

Hi Chris

Your PJB looks different to Gabe, the fruit dosnt l look erect compared to Gabe, is that because its not filled out.PJB, Crocodile fingers and Monkey finger, come under one name on the wiki, bit confused, if you could clear it up for me.Thanks
