I just got this banana last fall, and after planting it in a pot and keeping it inside through the winter, I planted it in the ground around March. A couple of weeks ago, it sent up a half-sized leaf:
What is the name of the leaf before the flag leaf? Now the flower is visible. It is too late for much to happen with this flower in Savannah, but it is still cool that I have a flower at all. ![]() |

June, sounds about right. I'll have to pack it up and send it to you guys in Florida or San Diego.
I like "penflag". The only other banana I had flower was a Misi Luki last year. It had 2 leaves progressively shorter than normal before the flag leaf and flower showed. |

Some PVC, plastic, duct tape, and a small heater, and you can make a temporary greenhouse.
