Default Pineapple Banana Is this a load or not?

"Pineapple" - Banana Plant - Banana Tree The 'Pineapple' Banana Plant grows to 6-7 ft. tall and is a derivative of the 'Raja Puri' Banana Plant but is slightly shorter and has tangier fruit that is reminiscent of pineapple.

There are many fruits that taste like pineapple. We have the Bromelia pinguin L. that looks like the top of a pineapple and the fruit looks more like loquats, it has a much stronger flavor than a pineapple.
Before barb wire became popular, this plant was used to keep animals on or off your farm. It's a cool looking plant and very beautiful when fruiting.

The fruit that is displayed is either the fruit of the Monstera Deliciosa or, as near as I can tell, a fraud.

The fruit does have a taste like a combination of banana and pineapple.

This is the fruit on the plant

This is the fruit in a market

The core contains the seeds and only the white pulp is edible.
Here is an image of the ripening fruit.

Those are wicked looking blades on Bromelia pinguin L. I have no doubt it would keep just about anything out except the one thing Ticos fear above all else... the Fer-de-Lance.

I've seen Monstera deliciosa growing outside in my area. I wonder if I could get it to successfully fruit?

Speaking of the Fer-de Lance. Everytime I remember tromping thru the bush in Costa Rica and Panama I think of this snake. Our guide showed us how to pick up a leaf to find little ones. And we did.

The only argument I have with the Wiki article is that it will do well in full sun. I warned my wife that it wouldn't do well in full sun but she planted it in the sun as a matter of convenience.

We have been into the dry season since late November and the Monstera is in flower and producing fruit. We aren't due to for the rainy season for another month.

The only problem that we see in ours is that the sun yellows the spine of the leaves and some tend to dry and drop.
