Pics of My Dwarf Cavendish

First off, Great website! I'm a new banana plant owner in Charlotte,N.C. (Zone 7) and have learned so much from these forums over that past five months! I just wanted to share and receive feedback on photos of my dwarf Cavendish I planted in a 3.5 gallon pot the first week of April 2012. Photos are of the day it was planted and also current photos taken today. Currently I feed it twice a month with 15-5-30 Banana fuel (1 tbsp every other week), also I use Neptune's Harvest fish & seaweed blend, both foliar and soil watering application (2 fluid oz. every other week). Finally, I also mixed in a few cups of Dr. Earth 708P fruit tree fertilizer with fast draining cactus soil when I first planted back in April and once again the first week of July. From the looks of rapid growth of the plant, I believe to be doing everything right so far. I already have 3 pups that have sprouted and are doing well. I wanted to ask for advice on when I should repot..... Currently it's in a 3.5 gallon pot, will it need to be changed before next spring or am I ok? Also, do I let the pups stay with the mama plant or should I remove them and plant them seperate? Thank you in advance for you assistance!

Looking good so far! To me, it looks like you won't have to change pots before spring.

Great looking plant!!!
Soil looks good also.
I think you have about 70 to 90 days left in your growing season...with the great food your feeding it pot it up to a 5 gal or larger pot....Go for it ..keep the pups intact and next spring....get ready ...you'll have a litter in no time.

Happy gardening
Mike

Beautiful plants! I grow DC the foothills of NC, near Charlotte. It's been 1 year 8 months. I'm hoping for a flower next spring/summer.
