Default Overwinter Musa Zebrina (Rojo)

I tried a different variety of banana this year to grow in a container since I lost mine to a bug invasion overwintering in a root cellar last year. I would like to try overwintering this Musa Zebrina either in our garage, not heated but attached to the house and insulated, or by planting it in a protected spot in the yard, mulching the roots. Both plans involve cutting it down to just above ground level. Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated. I am in zone 5/6.....right on the line.

You will probably have to bring them in, I don't think they will make it in your zone in the ground.

Iowas right.
Your plant will not tolerate the cold.
For me that particular ornamental plant thrives in tropical conditions and not in anything less .

Youtube has some good how to videos on bringing them indoors and repotting and such.
You could pot the plant up and bring it indoors by a window and see how it does.
