Is Ornata a slow grower?

I have these 2 Royal Red's that I planted 2 or 3 weeks ago, and I don't think they have put out 1 leaf? Should I dig them up and replant with better soil? I don't remember, but I could have just used compost to fill the hole around the root ball. I know little about all this, and then I knew even less. The other types I have, are putting out leaves like crazy....or maybe they are real slow growers?

Are there signs of soil that wont drain well enough, other than root rot with a dead plant?

I don't know about these specifically but most of my banana plants take longer than that to get growing after transplanting but it depends on what you planted. Was your plant in a pot and just transplanted from a pot grown plant? Was it a pup cut off another plant? Did it have roots that need to rot and regrow new ones? These things will make a difference.

They are about 12" and 3' pseudostem high, one pup of the other, transplanted from a pot of TC's probably, not corms. ...and now that I stand back and look, they are under my Oak Tree's canopy, it takes up a large part of the yard, so I didn't even realize it.

I'm guessing, that combo, could lead up to slow growth??
