This bunch was picked 2 months ago & a couple days.. Not much progress..

So I decided I'd cut them up and fry some.. You know Cajun Style.. They smell very similar to cucumbers (the Smell) when peeling, and peeling is a chore.. In the end, "It's all good". I guess I should've had an after shot, but by then they were all gone.. :^)

2 1/2 months and I have 3 Banana's that turned.. That's pretty good shelf life.. and more than plenty of time to cook them up green.. You can bet I'll pick Orinoco's early from now on just so I can cook them green.. :^)

We shall see on the Hit, we shall see once it warms up.. Worst I have plenty in pots to go forth.. Lord knows I'm not uncovering any early this year that's for sure..
I don't think I have to worry about replacing any Orinoco. I finished up the Orinoco bunch this morning.. They were so goood.. :^)

Orinocos are extremely cold hardy. I had blankets covering the pseudo stem a couple of nights ago when it dropped below 20 and it appears that they suffered little damage if any at all. The others that I left unprotected survived when it got down to just above 20 degrees but bit the dust on a night about a month ago when it got down to about 15. Note that I am only talking about the pseudo stem, not the corm.

Roughly a month of growth and I recently had to thin this mat from 5 to 2. Now might get some good growth.. Only 6 more months of decent growing to see what this one can do.. :^)
