100713 We'll see how this one fares in 2014 since its covered in frost cloth these days. Should've had a more recent photo of this one but there is always next year.. :^)

This bunch was picked 2 months ago & a couple days.. Not much progress..
So I decided I'd cut them up and fry some.. You know Cajun Style.. They smell very similar to cucumbers (the Smell) when peeling, and peeling is a chore.. In the end, "It's all good". I guess I should've had an after shot, but by then they were all gone.. :^) |

Orinocos are extremely cold hardy. I had blankets covering the pseudo stem a couple of nights ago when it dropped below 20 and it appears that they suffered little damage if any at all. The others that I left unprotected survived when it got down to just above 20 degrees but bit the dust on a night about a month ago when it got down to about 15. Note that I am only talking about the pseudo stem, not the corm.
