Orinico in garage is yellowing badly

Hi everybody,

In fear of an early frost I put an Orinico in it's pot in my garage last weekend and one week later it is beginning to yellow badly. Should I cut it down to the base or is the yellowing normal.

I'm in Zone 6, Wayne, New Jersey.

I believe that's normal. The plant is adjusting to the lower light levels. It may also have been due to the cooler night temps before you brought it in. Either way, if you are looking to make it go dormant, you can cut the yellow leaves off, but leave the last 1-2 leaves that emerged at the top.

It's normal. My basjoo always do it too in the garage. They'll look more than ready to go back outdoors in the spring, but they'll be fine.
