Default Online nursery?

What's the best online nursery to order bananas from? Seen a couple Floridahillsnursery.com and greenhousebusiness.com/bananaplants.html. Just wasn't sure where everyone else orders theirs from. Thanks

I have recently purchased 8 new plants from Florida Hill and so far everything has seemed good. All plants are doing OK after 2 - 3 weeks. Everything from then is rather small and all looks about the same so I'll have to wait to see if what they sent me is what they claimed it to be. That is sometimes a problem when you order.

Many of the members offer their plants for sale or trade. Of course there is also ebay. I have had some good luck with a few of them but mostly with Wellsprings, not an endorsement.
Remember that online you are at their mercy. Fortunately we had good luck. All that I ordered did good and are thriving.

I ordered 2 basjoos and a bunch of elephant ears from Florida hill. I was very happy with all the stuff I received. I knew they were small as stated in the info, but the price was great.

Besides what's been mentioned...I like for Bananas and other tropicals like EE's the following- they all go with 4" pots which I like better than the mini "starter plants"
Santa Rosa Gardens (great end of season sales, and large plants for the price)
Brians Botanicals (Lots of EE's and Aroids, but also some Bananas)
And as it's been said for large pups you can't beat trades from members here.

I bought 4 bananas and an EE from florida hill this spring on e-bay - everything arrived ok. Yeah they were really small under 12" but today one is taller than me, they really grew quickly. I only paid about $5 dollars each plus $6 to ship all 5 plants. If short on cash and not in a hurry for big plants they are a great deal. My Thai Black is about six feet tall already! Good Luck . . . I ordered from floridahillnursery.com and the plants seem good. Both rooted and are growing strong. But I would patronize the members here if they had what I was looking for.

Wanted to second the nod for Sandy. She has nice stock and packs well and ships fast, with good prices for members here. Brian's Botanicals also is great. Sorry Pitangadiego, I haven't bought from you yet. Will have to remedy that soon! (Just sent you an e-mail.)

Don't know what has happened to floridahillnursery, but it is not good. I purchased 4 bananas and 5 blueberries late November and the bananas were tiny, maybe 4-6 inches and very sad looking upon arrival. It was cold that week (even here in sunny Los Angeles) and 3 of the 4 plants did not survive the trip. I have sent 10 emails to floridahill nursery with no response. Numerous phone calls again with no response. I guess internet only means just that.

Here's the funny part. The day after my bananas arrived in the mail, my local Garden Center (Armstrong) started a tropical plant sale at 70% off. I ended up with 4 different banana plants in 7 gallon containers (3-5 feet tall) all priced in the $8-10 range. Needless to say, they are all doing great.
