Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
So, which method of cooking them is best? LOL If I can get them to develop a taste for raccoons and squirrels, I know where to get them - just call Patty!

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
If anyone is interested, I forgot that I have a nice sized (approx 14-16" tall - shippable size) Puya alpestris for sale, too - the one that will eventually produce teal-colored flowers. Here is a link to some pictures:
Flowers From A Bad Sci-Fi Flick - Fine Gardening Reportedly cold-hardy, this is a really interesting plant. When it flowers, it will be the talk of the neighborhood. It takes several years to have one flower, so why not get one that is already established to cut down the waiting time? $20.00 minimum bid (plus shipping) (I paid $19.95 for the plant last year) |

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
I have one I would like to bid on but it wouldn't work out if its not here either before July 30 or after Aug 16. It would get stuck sitting at the front of the house in 100+ temperatures.

Scot , I wouldn't shy away from the cats. You're potentially going to see dogs as well hanging in markets depending where you go( I draw the line there even though one bit me in the eye last night, it was the size of a roll of charmin!) I've eaten mountain lion a few times(sweet and sour) it wasn't bad.

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
The auction here at bananas.org has ended.
If you're interested in giving at shot on germinating some rare seeds, Scot still has one batch on eBay: Musa ingens seeds - Rarest of the Rare! 50 seeds - eBay (item 290331300589 end time Jul-16-09 2250 PDT) |

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
Hey, everyone, Scot's without computer access at home (yes laptop was stolen a while back) and I know the buyers are wondering when to pay and when their plants will be shipped. Rather than have Scot e-mail each one of you via his cell phone, I'm passing on the word. He and Paulie are going to pack things up this weekend and will be getting payment requests out to everyone over the next few days.
Scot was able to buy his ticket to China today but it's a bit later in the month than he was planning so this gives a bit more time to get other things wrapped up as well. I'll continue to provide Scot with sorted lists of auction results, etc. but the shipping information will all be coming from Scot. Thanks, Harvey |

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
Thank you so much to everyone! Your help has made my dream become a reality. I will not be posting much for awhile as I will be busy trying to get everything ready for you.
I have one more thing to auction that I had forgotten all about. I have a boatload of various seeds that I have accumulated over the past year. Some may be good, some may be bad, it is purely pot luck. In all, I probably have 10,000-40,000 seeds. Since my laptop was stolen, I no longer have a clue how many there are. There are tropicals, bonsai tree (pine and hardwood), arid climate, Australian, and just about everything in between. I remember some very unique and beautiful Chinese strain poppy and peony seeds, plumeria, canna, Iris and magnolia, water lilly, bamboo, and of course a few banana seeds. Please do not email me for a detailed list, as I do not have time to go through all of the packets - there are lots of them. I will say that I have paid well over $800 to accumulate these over the past year. I am quite certain that the majority of them are still viable for gemination. This auction will end on this Sunday 7/19/09 at 8 pm PST. The bidding starts at $25.00 and shipping will be calculated for the winner. Just post your bids here and then everyone will know who is in the lead. Have fun! I have no doubts that the winner will be pleasantly surprised at the number and variety of seeds they will get! I also have a full set of men's golf clubs, including a Scotty Cameron Putter ($350) and 2 Titleist metal woods, a Driver (905-T) extended to 48" and a 3 wood - both with Aldila Graphite shafts. The 3-PW are Ram Laser X2's Cast with steel shafts, all extended 1 1/2-2" and there are 4 Wedges, 3 Mizuno Forged - 52/56 and 60 degree loft, along with an Arnold Palmer Sand Wedge and bag. $50 opening bid - plus shipping. Ends Sunday at 8 pm as well. Last edited by Chironex : 07-16-2009 at 06:54 PM. |

Re: Notice - Liquidation of Scot's (Chironiex) Banana Collection
Don't be bashful folks, feel free to outbid me on the seeds. I'd gladly take them for $25 but would be equally happy to see Scot get a few hundred bucks for them.
