This is my Dwarf Cavendish, it stopped growing for a couple weeks in Jan but since then the growth rate has been picking up.The bottom of the leaves don't seem to be opening all the way causing them to stick up
Anyone know how to stop this from happening? or what's causing it? href="http://s665.photobucket.com/user/Kaczerm/media/IMG_1495_zps8baff20d.jpg.html" target="_blank"> ![]() ![]()

Im 99% sure its just choking. My grand naine has just started to do this also bc it was jamming into the roof and things got all bunged up. Think the long winter has also played a large part in this also. Yours looks pretty bad though. I would probably chop it, or u could do some surgery and down the side so that the newly emerging leaf isn't being strangled. You could also wait another week or so to see if it will fix itself as the day length is finally getting longer again.

They do that before blooming.....just watch and enjoy! My SDC is pretty problematic in the winter, but as long as it's still putting up leaves, I'd hope for a bloom!

Good for you! My SDC that I had in a container a couple years back exhibited behavior similar to that when it was getting rootbound aka starting to choke. Has yours outgrown its pot maybe?
Also fingers crossed that it's just getting closer to flowering; the leaves do start to sort of bunch up before the inflorescence in SDCs ![]()
