![]() sends her Ae Ae out without a winter coat!
Its supposed to be 34 tonite, and possibly as cold as 26 tomorrow night...our first real freeze of the season. Just one night, and so much damage can be done. I wrapped her in 3 layers, a thick woven wool blanket, a flannel sheet on top of that, and a triple wrap of agricultural grade frost cloth over that. With the "winding", there are probably 12+ layers of protection on the trunk. I think that'll do it (I hope so) I can't seem to post a photo, so you'll just have to imagine!

![]() I have a neighbor who has Ae ae and it died shortly after a series of low temperatures in the mid-30's. That's not even freezing yet, and there were no frosts. It is very cold sensitive in our area and not worth growing in the ground unless you have a greenhouse.
