New corms and Manini fruit!
I recently received some new corms ( Manini, French red, Patupi ) from Pr-Giants. These things are huge ( Almost as big as my giant head ). I have them all planted in coarse sand at the moment and will upload some photos as they progress. I made some tostones out of the manini fruit which were absolutely delicious. Tasted exactly like a french fry when they were salted. Thanks Keith!!!

Thanks for the kind words.
Just curious if you were able to ID that free FHIA-21 corm you got in the box yesterday. Quote:

I did notice that they were two different varieties but I would never have guessed it was a FHIA-21 without being told. Your gift was very much appreciated and the quality/size of your corms is absolutely top notch. I would never hesitate to recommend you as a seller to any future buyers. Thank you very much Keith!

Could you let me know when your first Manini corm starts pushing leaves. The initial one I had picked out for you didn't fit in the box so I planted it and chose another but would like to compare push dates. Thanks again.

Re: New corms and Manini fruit!
Here's an update of the corms that I had received. The newest Manini and the FHIA-21 are really taking off compared to the others. The patupi is putting out new leaves and seems to be growing much faster within the past few days. I labeled all the corms by name and date that they were planted.

Re: New corms and Manini fruit!
Another update, The patupi is still in the lead and has a massive rootball below the sand line. The other corms are at a near stand still, I pulled the corms of the first Manini and the French red to check for roots/soft spots and didn't find any of either. I lightly watered the sand when I first added the corms to the sand and then again yesterday. Any suggestions?

Patience my friend!...Give them sometime and you will see they will take off!...They will start growing roots in no time!....As you, I watered my corms every 5 to 6 days!...Coarse sand will hold the moisture well!....No need for frequently irrigation!... Please check my thread "New Corms" for the latest update, pictures!....Most of my corms are trans-planted to the ground now!...Except the FHIA-1 "Real Deal" Goldfinger!...Is still in the really slow mode, but eventually will take off too, like the rest of the corms, growing some roots!..... Good luck!.... Hector

Re: New corms and Manini fruit!
Thanks Hector, I've been watching your thread daily and admired the progress that your corms have made. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. I'll be sure to keep updating as they grow.

Re: New corms and Manini fruit!
Pulled all the corms today and was pleasantly surprised to see that the corms had made some improvement since I last checked them. The second Manini and the Fhia-21 have put out a nice root system. The first Manini has developed one small root about an inch long and the French red appears to be starting to push out a small root. The patupi is continually pushing out new leaves and has a massive root ball. No leaves from any of the corms other than the Patupi as of yet. I'll post some photos during my next update.
