Re: New Cavandish banana
Does look good!! Where did you get that special find at? NEW? What name is on it?
I gave up on posting photos long ago, at least you got one up even if it isn't exactly the way you intended |
Re: New Cavandish banana
Super Walmart, beleive it or not... and it says "Banana Cavandish" on the label.
I blame ninja for the problems with photos. |
Re: New Cavandish banana
saw a whole bunch of those @ Lowe's or Home Depot.. Not that I'm getting any.. just the wrong kind.. :^)

Re: New Cavandish banana
I grow cavandish all so. The price was great. I'd go to my local walmart for some if I wanted more Banana plants. But right now I don't.

Re: New Cavandish banana
3. Thats a healthy looking plant :)
Dont worry about the picture laying on its side... My phone takes great pictures and when I upload them they will also be laying on the side .. I know it a Android operating system error nothing I can do about it .. Why yours did it I dont know. I do know this site has great info and years of experience .. So I just tilted my head |
Re: New Cavandish banana
LOL. I'm on a 3GS iPhone, and normally it doesn't do this, but on here, it LOVES to turn the pictures around. I find it entertaining.
I'm glad it looks healthy. I wondered at the leaves coming from the bottom so much, but I don't have one this size... smaller for Zeke, and much larger for all the rest. Just bought a Ice Cream... so I may not go back to get another of these. I may wait and see if they don't sell and go on clearance... gotta love clearance! |

Like Pringles chips... I've gone from NO bananas but a realization I would like a banana plant... to currently owning 5 types with 2 more coming.

Re: New Cavandish banana
Wolfyhound...I'm in that state as we speak, just planted 6 different types from trades I recieved a few months ago and am currently on the hunt for a few more edible ones and Ensetes especially the Perrieri or the Ventricosum but I'll take what I can get that I don't already have, I would love to get a praying hands and a thousand fingers, maybe that one that is an explosive self peeler?...Any wild ones from who knows what far off place...Soo many bananas so little room, Oh the possibilities...now where did I put that property stretcher?

I have a secret plan that I have been implementing one baby step at a time so not to raise the brow of the MAD MOWING MAN... First it was a row of Pink Velutina I grew from seed (I have a bunch in pots) across the one side of the porch, then a second row some distance apart of snow bananas (shussh) that's enough for now... Weeks later in the front yard while he was gone all day, I planted a row of bananas I traded for (6 total in all) along the property line between me and the ugly neighbors yard, in a few week assuming I haven't raised some eye brows and vocal concerns I have a few others in pots for a second row...(I'll have to wait though) Then there are the Ornata "Aurea" X Sikkimensis I just got popping up from seed that I transplanted this past weekend. Oh heaven help us all if I ever get the chance to buy a good amount of Musa Ingens seeds...LOL :ha: :ha:For those I may have to rent the yard next door to accomodate them!!:ha::ha: |
Re: New Cavandish banana
My aunt is letting me have plenty of orinoco bananas since she had two large clumps of them and her husband wants one whole group gone because they're in the way.

Re: New Cavandish banana
Yeah, I'm always on the look out for different bananas when I'm in the garden section or local nursery, I tell my wife it just followed me home but she doesn't go for it.
