Default New Cavandish banana

I picked up this plant today, looks awfully healthy! For $7.50, I may go back and get another one.

[IMG][/IMG]

And no, I don't know why it keeps turning my pictures over. When I uploaded a different picture earlier, it was upside down!

Does look good!! Where did you get that special find at? NEW? What name is on it?

I gave up on posting photos long ago, at least you got one up even if it isn't exactly the way you intended

I grow cavandish all so. The price was great. I'd go to my local walmart for some if I wanted more Banana plants. But right now I don't.

I know it a Android operating system error nothing I can do about it .. Why yours did it I dont know. I do know this site has great info and years of experience .. So I just tilted my head

LOL. I'm on a 3GS iPhone, and normally it doesn't do this, but on here, it LOVES to turn the pictures around. I find it entertaining.

I'm glad it looks healthy. I wondered at the leaves coming from the bottom so much, but I don't have one this size... smaller for Zeke, and much larger for all the rest.

Just bought a Ice Cream... so I may not go back to get another of these. I may wait and see if they don't sell and go on clearance... gotta love clearance!

LOL
I have a secret plan that I have been implementing one baby step at a time so not to raise the brow of the MAD MOWING MAN...
First it was a row of Pink Velutina I grew from seed (I have a bunch in pots) across the one side of the porch, then a second row some distance apart of snow bananas (shussh) that's enough for now...
Weeks later in the front yard while he was gone all day, I planted a row of bananas I traded for (6 total in all) along the property line between me and the ugly neighbors yard, in a few week assuming I haven't raised some eye brows and vocal concerns I have a few others in pots for a second row...(I'll have to wait though)

Then there are the Ornata "Aurea" X Sikkimensis I just got popping up from seed that I transplanted this past weekend. Oh heaven help us all if I ever get the chance to buy a good amount of Musa Ingens seeds...LOL

For those I may have to rent the yard next door to accomodate them!!

My aunt is letting me have plenty of orinoco bananas since she had two large clumps of them and her husband wants one whole group gone because they're in the way.

That's fantastic, there a tasty banana, got a patch in the ugly yard next to me on the other far side though, out of reach...he would never know if I stole one, but there are others around more healthy then his to get, since his get to be about 10-12 foot, flowers, then just fall over, too shaded I think by the florida holly and strangled a bit by the virginia creeper. 2 things I prefer not in my yard just to have a Orinococ banana tree...when they fall over and die they stink terrible till they finally dry up. No he doesn't clean them up, I'm lucky the man actually mows exactly 4 times a year. We throw a party at the change of every season when he mows.

Good deal on the Orinoco

ha ha When I was searching for different bananas every time I found one my wife would just stare at me like a starving kitten .. so I went to Wall Mart bought a one gallon banana put it in the front seat of my truck and talked to.it all the way home.. She said " you finally found some thing that wants to listen to you " she smiled and told me " these things better produce "
as long as I keep them in the back yard I'm safe..
