I don't have much experience but from what I have those small ones never get big, They stay the same size. They did turn yellow but really don't have much fruit in there. I think after the small ones open or after the big ones, they don't start making big ones again. But i could be wrong.

Hopefully I will find out Sarah. Every time they came into bloom something happened and they died off over the past two years. The 3rd plant in the pot bloomed this summer but that was when we found huge amounts of ants. The Pyrethrum did kill the ants but it damaged the flower and many leaves. They did finally recover and the both other plants in the same pot are producing now.

No, not fire ants we don't have them where we live in NC. At least not at this time.
We bought a piece of property in September about 2 hours from where we live now that does have fire ants. Holy Cow! I learned first hand how bad they are when they bite you.

Finally remember how to post pictures here.So patience really is a virtue! Picture above is from last November.
The bunch of bananas sat all winter long in the heated to 55 degrees all winter and did nothing. Along comes warmer spring weather and the bananas started filling out.
The 2nd bunch in the same pot on another plant are starting to grow again too. I am beyond excited!
