Default NC banana plants

I have seen alot of people growing banana's in there yard. From my area and Topsail, Wilmington areas. Now most of them look like Ice Cream's with the color of the trunk and leaves. I have never seen them up close nor have I found anyone selling ice cream around here. I already have one . Just curious to know whats the most common banana that is grown around here? I have only seen acouple Basjoo mats. Thanks
