How very unusual! I would think that this is just a random freak occurrence where the flower was produced too early as you can see this sucker continued to grow taller and produce more leaves with age. You dont see this behavior occurring on any of the other plants in his field. Doubtful this is any stable trait, or 'new' variety, just a freak occurrence in my opinion.

It looks to me like there are two different plants in the photos both doing it. If it is stable it could be considered a new variety, but who knows. Maybe you can email the video creator to ask.
