Yes, rectangular in cross section is right for Saba, but they don't typically have the pointy ends that these ones have, and some of these are more triangular in cross section.

Thanks for the great tip! You are absolutely right about the pointy ends. Is that typical of Orinoco? Oddly, I have a triangular cross sectioned Saba on my kitchen counter right now, and it sure is blunt ended!

Yes, Orinoco (and more generally, Bluggoe subgroup) bananas have pointy ends.
