Default My SDC has a pup!!!

I planted two super dwarf cavendishes in April that basically sat there and did nothing until June. When the weather warmed up, they really started taking off. Tonight, I was moving the leaves and rocks around to add milorganite and water them, when I noticed that one of them had a pup coming up!! This is my first pup ever on a banana plant and it had to be on a SDC and not a basjoo.

Here are some pictures!

Congratulations! I get pretty excited to see banana babies down here in Florida. I'd probably go nuts if I managed to reproduce a cavendish in Wisconsin! (I used to live in Appleton; boy, I don't miss those brutal winters.) Great job!

Get ready, my SDC's pup pretty prolifically. Once they really get settled in you'll likely get a ton of them.

Nice pup! Now for the bloom...

Black rocks instead of white might help heat the soil for a longer growing season. I spent a Janurary and February at my buddies house in Superior. You need all the help you can get!

You might want to move a few of the rocks too. To let the pups come up. I'm excited for you.
