Your Patupi looks great! I also got a Patupi from Keith. I was having some trouble with mine and Keith and I talked on the phone, and he helped me get through it. I lost a little time, but that's ok. The plant is a beautiful plant and is worth the waite. Great job with yours!

i have another one that had trouble getting started also. Sat for a while and had cut it down a inch cause top was looking bad. Sat around for a little while longer top was getting really nasty looking and seemed really wet so I cut it down around another inch and a half making sure the very middle was nice and white and no brown and finally couple days ago it is blasting off. One of them is getting donated to the local conservatory.

That's what mine looked like. It had that brown mushy rot all around it. I dug mine up and used running water and my thumbnail to clean it up. Then I called Keith and he told me that I am still in good shape. That was several weeks ago and it's doing great now. They are such beautiful plants. Yours looks great!

Hi Group -
I wonder if the patupi has fruited for anyone in zone 9. not much info in wiki except it appears to be a fast grower and bloom to harvest is quick.
so, have you had good or bad experience with patupi

In your climate I am not sure how they would do in a cold green house maybe bring the small ones inside the house near a sunny window, if you have some. I keep mine above 60 with lots of artificial lighting.
Watch out for mites in winter I seem to get them regularly on the cohol.
In zone 6 if you have a 3' or so healthy plant in the spring you should get fruit!

Someone has managed to fruit Veinte Cohol in zone 6, so I guess fruiting patupi in zone 9 wouldn't be so hard!
