My first nanner!

So I got this little guy on eBay from a member here. It’s a Blue Java. My plan is to start it in a 24” Patio RootTrapper by RootMaker. I’ll be using a fast draining potting blend comprised of Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Roots Organic Original, ProMix HP M, perlite, and some calcined clay (Safe-T-Sorb) for drainage. Maybe some worm casting and/or greensand. I’ll leave it be until repotting is needed at which point it will go into a 30 gallon RootTrapper II pot on a rolling platform. I’ll be fertilizing with Fruit Fuel purchased here on bananas.org. Any pointers and/or advice, especially pertaining to the first couple weeks, would be very welcomed.

Edit: One other thing I’m interested in knowing is whether or not, in your opinions, it’s worth adding any kind of slower release fertilizer to the soil prior to potting. I don’t think I’ll be going out to buy one as I don’t believe that it would make a night and day difference over the well amended potting souls and water soluble fert I plan to use. That being said I do have several options lying about and wouldn’t be opposed to mixing one of them into the soil mix prior to potting if it’s something that would help or at worst do nothing. The two most likely candidates are Fox Farm Marine Cuisine and Dr. Earth Exotic Blend “Palm, Tropical, and Hibiscus Fert”.
