Randy:
All of my bananas were transferred close to the fence 2 or 3 months ago and as such are just trying to recuperate. That's when I moved my pergola plat when I renovate my backyard. All of them were planted under the pergola plat before. Some of them reacted negatively loosing their leaves. They are just now springing back to life. My Belle was planted next to the persimmons where it got the least amount of sunshine. So it's not altogether normal as of right now. But I'll post a picture when I can. I'll also post a picture for those bananas that were planted with lots of sunshine.

Benny--

Here are some pictures of my 'Belle.' It is now just over two years from a six-inch pup, and was almost this big last year. This is perhaps the stem-hardiest fruiting banana I have, and an amazingly vigorous plant. Give it lots of room because it's pretty big!! I'm about to cut down the first of several bunches I have this year.

Returning after our 9a winter this past May (15-hour freeze to 24F and a smattering of other freezes/frosts):

The clump today:

Fruit in development/flowering this summer:

One bunch photographed today, about ready to come down!
