My banana is fruiting and I am so proud
I have been growing this banana for 5 or 6 years now and finally it looks like this year I will be getting to taste my first banana from it. It bloomed last year but too late for the fruits to mature. I sure hope we do not have a hurricane come along and ruin things. Here, I hope, are some photos of my labor of love which should be an ice cream banana. Should I cut off the end of the flower yet? If so how far up should I cut?

Nice job! Doesn't look like a true Ice Cream though, more like a Namwah. Still great fruit though.

I know it probably sounds like a broken record, but why didn't my photos post? I uploaded them to my gallery, went to each photo and copied the Url, pasted the url in the "insert image" form where it asked for a Url and then summitted the post. What did I do wrong?

What you have to do is right click on the image and click "Copy Image URL." Then, you click the insert image button and paste the URL into that.

I call that a score and a good one.
It seems like every picture of an ice cream posted is called a namwah. Can they all be wrong? Do blue java's really have to have a blue cast?

Most of the ones in the mainland US are misidentified. There actually is a true Ice Cream with bluish fruits.

Thanks for trying to help me Cali, but when I right click on an image, there is no "copy url" choice. There are only "copy" and "copy shortcut" to choose from. I see you were able to post my pictures so thanks for that. Can anyone tell me about cutting off the flower?

What browser are you using? I'm using Chrome, and that's how I do it on here. In your case, I think you would select "Copy Shortcut."

Congrats! I agree with caliboy1994, it does resemble Namwah fruit. |

As you can see I still had no luck using the copy shortcut choice. Last edited by aupoet : 08-07-2012 at 10:15 PM. Reason: added info |

Here is another try,
[IMG] WAR EAGLE! It worked. I found out what the problem was. When I right click on the photo in my gallery and it comes up with a choice of links, the first one is for use on bulletin boards. I tried using that one before with no luck. Well it turns out that the box that comes up when you click on "insert image" has the "//http." already in it so when you paste the Url link there, that part of the address is posted twice, messing up the Url. I had to backspace to delete that part of the address before pasting the Url in the box. The site administrators might want to check that out and remove it from the box. I have also never been able to get this site to remember my user name or password even though I have checked the "remember me" box. I always have to type in both pieces of information when I logon. That's why it seems like almost everybody's Ice Cream is a Namwah: Agri-Starts supplied the nurseries with Namwah labeled as Ice Cream. My questions are these: Has Agri-Starts corrected the problem yet? Have they acquired a genuine Ice Cream to do their tc'ing with, or are they still tc'ing that Namwah plant and selling it as Ice Cream?
