Such a beautiful nana cultivar! Thanks again Greenie for giving me this opportunity to grow such a beautiful Musa!
So pretty!

Since you have two of the normal variegated, I actually think it would be cool if the green one continued to go on as it is, with the occasional white stripe like that. Just for something different

Sick?
They are premies like I told you. They need to develop a good root system...

Make sure they are not getting all that rain water plus extra water when in a pot.

I heard next week could be a great week ...drumroll! Lol

Update!

Sad news. One of the Ae Ae is in hospice, on it’s deathbed.
It isn’t the smallest one.

The other variegated one is not doing anything, the white dried up.

The Virupakshi is doing really good, healthy corm! Thanks! Brown spots are a foliar spray I put on.

Green Ae Ae doing great! It seems my skill only goes as far as the stronger, green Ae Ae! Lol! Not the weaker, less vigorous variegated sport.

New leaf, more variegation!

Praying hands suffered a little nutrient deficiency, but looking better!

....you said you were up for the challenge and you’ve done a great job!

Not easy with those nubs (eyes) huh ? A little more babysitting is required
Hopefully the other one decides to push that leaf.

Garden is looking good !

I see you got the coarse sand...let’s see. I would of added perlite to a 50/50 mix for best drainage but that’s ok, got to go with what you have

I also found out there might be a 3 way trade in the works and that you may be expecting a BIG package from ....

For sure! Thank you bananamal!

Repotted the Ae Ae today. There is hope! About half the corn was rotten, but not the horrible brown death, where it just keeps spreading. This was just a husk, and there was a definitive line between the dry husk, and the healed surface. There are three half rotted roots, but one is (barely connected due to rot) but has new rootlets on the end! Repotted to about 20-30% course sand, and 70-80% compost from my tall namwa mat. It is barely wet, just moist! Perfect!

But yea, if you ever go on a road trip and pick up banana trees, (and lets say going through a cold area) remember to put the wife and kids in the u haul, and put the banana trees in the nice warm car. Very important for the health of the trees.
