Update!

Okay, this is my third time writing this it deleted the second time when I was explaining that it deleted the first time....... sooooo lol

Tall Namwa opened a respectable eleven hands bunch! Woohoo!

Manzano has not stopped growing since I dug it up, cut off all the roots, soaked it in bleach, dried the cut side in the sun, and planted it into the patch

Almost has the leaf out now:

Praying hands has not missed a beat since transplanting to the ground! Finished opening the leaf and already has the new leaf starting to grow out! Good girl!

Also woohoo! Page #5!

Just noticed two of my nana plants are in sync! P Ceylon right, Tall Namwa left.

Tall Namwa

P. Ceylon

T. Namwa left, P. Ceylon right. Thousand finger far right, and Orinoco straight ahead. New manzano also next to Orinoco

Dwarf Namwa can be seen to far right, Orinoco far left

Pisang Ceylon

Dwarf cavendish

This was pisang ceylon on August 21 two times in the day:

About 8:00 am. Manzano in background

Had to capture that rust color with a leaf behind it to see it better

About noon. Manzano n background

August 23 about a day after the leaf opened. Had to capture all that red!

Thanks for following this thread!

Those Mysore types with the mauve underside are pretty cool. Great job capturing the unfolding of the new leaf over the course of a day. Would be cool to catch it using time-lapse photography.

Your patch has really exploded over the past year BBJ! Good job!

Yes! I love the mauve color too! I only got out there to take pics twice that day, so should have taken more throughout the day.

Again, I am trying everything in my power to turn it into a jungle! Thanks!

My Double Mahoi is still pretty small compared to yours since it's a TC, I'm jealous!

How's the Manzano?

Thanks!

Yea, how small was your when you got it? Mine was about 1\8 × 2 inches!

Manzano finally stopped growing. It is now growing roots! Should start growing again in a week, maybe less. Probably Gonna plant another one in the yard!

Mine was 3-4" when I got it and right now is currently at 1ft pseudostem
So not bad at all but still a long way to go

Yeah makes sense your Manzano stopped to grow its roots out.
My Manzano pup has also been growing a bit slow but starting to pick up pace, I don't think it really likes a lot of heat. Too much 90+ with 100+ ambient heat! Thankfully it should start cooling down a bit and should pickup growth.

FANCY!!

I just looked it up and found a lot of info here
The Hill Bananas of southern India : In pictures | The banana knowledge platform of the ProMusa network

I wonder why they say that the mat only has a lifespan of 6 years before they replace it with a new one?

Probably after six years disease and pests eventually come...... Also the fruit production has somewhat slowed.
