musella lasiocarpa why won't it bloom?

I've taken about 100,000 suckers off this musella lasiocarpa of mine, (well, at least 15!)it's got about three feet of pseudostem, and about 12 more suckers-- but still no sign of a flower. I know this plant has to be three years old now. It seems perfectly healthy except for an attack of spider mites around 8/1 that left the leaves ugly.
What should I do with this one?
I sold a large pup that was a year old to a guy here locally and he swears that his plant is 8-9 feet tall with huge leaves. But I know it's the same pup, and off that same plant. I didn't even know they would get that tall.
I got this one off e-bay a long time ago, is there something that looks similar to a musella lasiocarpa that I just haven't heard of?
I can post a picture tomorrow, I'll get one taken.

Mine has survived 3 winters, but no sign of flowering yet.

Every winter mine survives, it is a little smaller the next year, like it can't quite catch up. Two summers ago, when bought new from Home Depot it reached almost 7' to the top of the leaves. Now, in a pot it is barely 3' tall. Also, I've never in my life seen a plant so prone to spider mites.

Next year, if it survives again, its going in a massive pot with more tlc. We'll see....

Sandy , Mine bloomed last year at just over 2' . I never removed any suckers and late in the year they all bloomed as well at less than 1' . When the new pups and seeds that fell off the big plant began to sproutthis spring I dug up the whole thing and seperated it out . I gave a lot away and planted the rest . These are 7' now . Weird .

Hey--thanks everyone for the information. I feel a little better about it now.
I thought I just had a dud, and maybe I still do, but at least I'm not alone!

I recall a discussion on GW and the consensus was that it took 3 years to bloom. Mine is at least 3 years and hasn't bloomed yet, either. OK, so I don't fertilize and have only removed a few of the many pups. I am hoping next year it will bloom...
