Default Musa sikkimensis 'Bengal tiger'

Is any body growing the Sikki 'Bengal tiger in a cold area, how does it fair and does it need particularly hot summers to thrive?

Default Re: Musa sikkimensis 'Bengal tiger'

Hello. I grew sikkimensis red tiger here in central ohio for several years. I don't know if red tiger and bengal tiger are the same but they may be. They wintered over fine with straw mulch and a tarp. Three years ago I lost all of them to mice. Ate every one during the winter. I have replaced them with sikkimensis daj giant which I grew from seed. I think they will look similar and hope they are as hardy and maybe grow taller. I now put plenty of mouse bate under the mulch.
Good luck
