I don't think you can buy seeds of Siam Ruby. I think it is a clone only plant. I would be very skeptical of anyone selling seeds for this plant. Lots of fake seeds of different plants are being sold out of China. Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina sells the plants and they are usually grown out larger than eBay plants. I think they are responsible for introducing this plant to the U.S.

Thanks for the info, that explains why google search of Musa Siam ruby seeds did not let yield any results. Do you happen to know of any nurseries in Charlotte area that might have the Siam ruby? Also I ordered some Musa Sikkimensis seeds online, do you know if these will grow well in our area?

Musa Sikkimensis should be ok in Charlotte. I know they have survived multiple winters at the J.C Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh and do not appear to have been mulched for winter there and emerge from their sleep very early in the spring and get tall fast.. I still suggest you should mulch it though. By the way Siam Ruby is probably not ground hardy in Charlotte, and needs excellent drainage and lots of warmth. Sorry I do not know of a nursery near there that would carry it. Plant Delights is in Raleigh and definitely have Siam R, although are sold out of it at times. Plant D. is primarily mail order and is only open to the public, for personal shopping, about 4 times a year (two weekends in a row each time) so do call ahead or look them up on the net. Their prices are high but they sell nice plants. Big Bloomers Flower Farm , in Sanford (between Charlotte and Raleigh) may carry them this spring. If you have never been there it's worth the trip. They carry tons of smaller, grown out, tissue culture plants for great prices but seem to not even know what they have since inventory changes and they have so much. If you do go to Big B. call ahead to see when inventory is at peak levels. Plan to be there a while as they have so many different plants it takes a while to browse them all.

Ok great info , thanks! I think I will just stick with the M Sikkimensis (ordered the seeds from online nursery) for now. I should be in the Raleigh area this summer so I will buy the Siam Ruby and keep it in a pot so that way I can move it indoors during the winter.
