Default Musa Saba first year growth?

In Zone 6, how tall can I expect a Musa Saba to get in it's first year? Last summer, my first year Basjoo grew about 5 feet.

Hi there... didn't see this post till now.

Are we speaking of a TC or a cut corm?

TC got about 5-8' I presume the first year here in zone 10ish
A keiki cut from a mother plant got a bit taller (10-12') and produced pups, while the TC produced ZERO pups.
Saba, that is.

Thanks for the info!

Reason I was asking....in the slim chance that Saba grew over 15 feet in one year it might be worth having as annual in my zone. At 10 feet, I'll probably stay with Basjoo which came back this Spring after a winter low of -8.

If you are talking 15' pseudostem height, won't happen in one year. Leaf tip maybe 12' in a year.
