Musa Puspanjaliae
I have just bought a small Musa Puspanjaliae from eBay, I couldn't resist such a different species. Doing some research it seems to come from North East India, similar to Cheesemanii and Veluntina to name a few. And so I assume is a similar hardiness as these two.
Does anyone on here have any experience with this relatively new species? |

Re: Musa Puspanjaliae
It has survived the winter and in active growth. It is only about 30cm/1ft tall and in a pot outside. It was a very cold winter here, didn't go below -3 degrees Celsius, but the duration of cold, perhaps not going above 3 degrees for 5 or so days consecutively from late Dec to early Feb. My unprotected sikkimensis 'red tiger' was cut almost right back and I have lost a lot of height of my cheesmanii which had some fleece wrapped around it. So I think it is a potentially hardy Musa species.
Will update on growth over this summer |
