Re: Musa Pineapple ??
I figured the seller is on bananas. Org but this banana is not on the wiki. So wanted more info.
I paid $39.99 and the vendor was 10peter2000. Info from the vendor: Musa "Pineapple" is a "Rare" derivative of Raja Puri, and is slightly shorter than Raja Puri. And it produces a great tasting tangier banana that is very delicious with a pineapple taste. Grows to about 6-8ft. Thus a semi-dwarf. Get a good head start with this hearty pup w/small rooted corm. Not a smaller fragile starter plant, has small rooted corm. They are Close to 2 ft. tall, 4th photo is of the actual PUP's being offered, growing strong. They will be shipped bare root wrapped, No soil. Will be shipped in long 38 inch, mailing tube. Leaves may have to be Trimmed/Cut for shipping & the health of the plant. Once rerooted in its new home, will start growing fast. Will have to get rerooted before you will start to see new leaf growth and that usually takes a few weeks or little more. Please be familiar with the looks, planting & the growing process of them this way once received. Thank you for looking! Thanks Thats about all i got

Re: Musa Pineapple ??
I think I'd message the seller asking kindly if they can direct you to more information about it, and perhaps to let you know how they came by the parent plant. Possibly they bought it in the same way though, in which case it's an oddity for your collection, 'awaiting proper identification'. Who knows, it could possibly be a really gorgeous plant.

Sometimes plants have names which misdirect the consumer just for the fast sale......like Raspberry banana, Ice cream banana, Apple banana, Rare one of a kind, Hard to find, and so on. A few pros on the forum should chime in and settle it . |

Re: Musa Pineapple ??
Reply from willis nursery.
Dear Ms. Parson, Thank you for your email. The Pineapple is just a 'plant sport' mutation from the original plant, Raja Puri. A sport in the plant world is a genetic mutation that has a chromosome difference. So then the mutation is a segment of the plant that has distinctions different from the parent plant in appearance and genetics. The genetic change is not a result of unusual growing conditions; it is just a happening that occurred. I personally do not understand how it happens but it does. Cynthia

Re: Musa Pineapple ??
I’m actually glad that they clarified that for you. I have personally bought and picked up several banana plants from them. I live about 35 minutes south of them and they have so many varieties to choose from. You can’t even see how far back that their land goes. It’s insane. I was wondering about the pineapple myself, because I like carrying shorter varieties so I can dry store and green house them easier.
