Default Musa ingens!

Last week I received 10 seeds from rarepalmseeds. Delivery was about a week. Since I live literally next to the beach and given my Temps that I have recorded over the years. This banana should do just fine. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for this babies to sprout

Bananas Brindando Re: Musa ingens!

I purchased 15 Itinerans var Gigantae seeds (2nd tallest nana plant) back in August and 15 more about a week ago and still none have sprouted.. heat mat and in mason jars (not too moist).. I took the optimist route and am just giving them more time than that 6 month "max" hoping they eventually sprout. I'm sure yours will sprout as I am sure mine will eventually! good luck! I hate you because I might go buy some Ingens seeds now.. haha. Keep us updated!

Yes I just ordered 10 more from them. Very sure they are legit.. seeds I got last time looked exactly like ingens seeds (according to Google images).

Also I got 20 Musa itinerana var gigantae from seedman.com. This way hopefully I'll eventually have a 60ft ingens and a 40ft itinerams var g.

Thanks Realnick5. How are your Musa Ingens doing so far?

Now I'm looking to get the other ones you mentioned too since they get to be 40ft! I'm thinking those may grow faster than the Ingens but we'll have to see.

I live in zone 9b so I want to try and give the ingens a chance. I'll probably keep it indoors for a couple of years before planting outside. Or in a green house setup that I currently don't have...

@McFly nothing happened... they all rotted. Got some more in a mason jar in the basement in well-draining potting mix.. no rot that i can smell so far.. not going to disturb the seeds.. had them about 8 months... supposedly they germinated for some guy named Christian in cold temps but later died. Itinerans var G. is the way to go. Just order from Brian's Botannicals. Mine are arriving in March... they're 100% legit too. In VA, they'll reach 20-25 feet per season I'm hoping
