Re: Musa French Red
I purchased a plant from you on eBay and it's taken off very nicely in spite of any missteps on my part. From what I understand, I'll need to put it in the greenhouse here in Oakland for the winter, but I'm very excited about it! A beautiful plant!

Re: Musa French Red
That's my favorite banana and the highest yielding plantain we grow. It also does really well when grown in a pot, we had an average height of under 6'6" feet while producing 35 grade A size fruit.
Many plants will produce nice size bunches at shorter heights when grown in a properly sized container. Here's a container grown Manini that flowered at 7'4".

Re: Musa French Red
This is the bunch harvested from the plant below, it was pruned to 4 hands with about 50 fingers. This high yielding cultivar has allowed us to more than double our per acre profit while growing the same amount of plants.

As to the French Red plantain, mines about 6 feet now. So it’s still growing. |

Re: Musa French Red
Congrats on getting fruit. A member gave me some monsters but the plants are still young, less than a year old but they seem like cool plants. Hopefully I get some fruit soon. The leaves get huge fast, they're over 40" now.
