The real reward with French-type plantains, which Horns & False-horns plantains don't have, is the super-sized ratoon crop. Proper plant management makes the ratoon even more impressive.

I've been very pleased with how this plantain has been growing. The fruit length about a week ago was more than a third of a meter.

Here's a photo showing that all of the pups were left with the mother plant. Removing pups does make maintenance easier but it does not have much of an impact on finger or bunch weight here.




Most impressive bunch I've ever harvested.
