Musa "Bluggoe"

Does anyone know if Bluggoe is the same as Orinoco or is it just very similiar? Would it be just as hardy/cool tolerant? Gabe? =) Thanks.

Bluggoe is a subgroup and a variety. When refered to as a particular variety, it should be what we know as 'Orinoco'. I can't verify the plant you are thinking about is actually 'Orinoco', but based on the same it should be. There is also 'Silver Bluggoe' which has silvery fruit skins.

Is Orinoco a reasonably easy one to germinate, or is it one of those stubborn ones? Am thinking of giving it a go from seed. But not the silver one unfortunately!

Jarred, what happened to your variegated 'Bluggoe'? Do you still have it?

'Orinoco' does not produce seed. It can either be propagated by dividing a pup off of the mother plant or through tissue culture.
