Musa Basjoo Leaf Stems bowing then snapping
Hi all,
My basjoo has a new affliction. I have already lost 1 leaf this week and now another has collapsed at the pseudostem causing the leaf bend down. There is a third leaf that is about to collapse also. This third leaf has a narrow support at the stem like it has atrophy making weak and likely to snap aswell. Anyone know what might be causing this? |

How wet is the soil? How often do you water? From what I can see it looks like its in a container, do you let it dry out out between waterings??

Take a picture of the entire plant. It might just be normal.

Re: Musa Basjoo Leaf Stems bowing then snapping
Even though it rains.....it is never enough for a plant in a container.
You have to water an oversized plant in a small container daily....maybe even putting a saucer under it to soak up the overflow. The leaves usually deflect water from the container area. |

Looks to me like the leaf mass is pretty good for plant size/pot size ratio
