Default Musa Basjoo Leaf Stems bowing then snapping

Hi all,

My basjoo has a new affliction. I have already lost 1 leaf this week and now another has collapsed at the pseudostem causing the leaf bend down.

There is a third leaf that is about to collapse also.

This third leaf has a narrow support at the stem like it has atrophy making weak and likely to snap aswell.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

How wet is the soil? How often do you water? From what I can see it looks like its in a container, do you let it dry out out between waterings??

Take a picture of the entire plant. It might just be normal.

Even though it rains.....it is never enough for a plant in a container.
You have to water an oversized plant in a small container daily....maybe even putting a saucer under it to soak up the overflow.

The leaves usually deflect water from the container area.

Ditto to both comments....just be careful if you are in a colder zone not to give it too much water as the weather turns less banana friendly

Looks to me like the leaf mass is pretty good for plant size/pot size ratio
