Hi - I was given a banana plant 5 or 6 years ago - now have about 12. I live near Vancouver BC Canada. Have absolutely no idea what kind of banana it is but now that one of the plants is fruiting I am very interested in finding out what it is and can I eat the fruit. Anyone know what the most common plant grows around here - seems to be a lot in our area. It can get well below freezing here in the winter (we cut them down and insulate and cover) and up to 30/35 C in summer. Very hot right now. Would appreciate any input and also do I do anything special to the fruit?
Thanks so much Joy |
