To start again? I dont know any more. Anybody went thrue this already? Thanks! Ante ![]()

![]() -6,-7C depends on location. Lowest temp. officialy for last 26 years since we have weather station here, before station who know when it was cold like this for the last time, 50yaers maybe. I did some mulching and cut some stems off but generaly to late. Lot of potted palm seedlings are saved, I got them inside but there wasnt time to dig few corms out.

![]() OK guys, no reason for so deep sorrow, on the end these were just few plants in the wrong place in the wrong moment. I was one of pioneers of banana growing in this area and Im like more angry on my self for not having reserve plan.
Well, first lets see what will cats drag in comming Spring ![]() ![]()

![]() Good-luck this spring. Hopefully those corms have some life still in them. Your ground probably never froze too deep, so you may still have hope.

![]() How long was it below freezing? That will have a lot to do with your corms survival, along with depth of planting. If they were deep and it was just a cold snap and not a long spell, you might be relieved in the spring! It's disheartening, I know, but try and cheer up. They may come back, and several people on here have offered to help if they can. ![]()

![]() I would cover with a big pile of mulch. If you can find some straw pile that on top and cover
with a large pot. When danger of frost is over uncover and inspect corm. If they are completely mush there toast. You never know how they'll come out, but you have nothing to loose.

![]() I wouldn't rush to judgment that they are dead. The corms usually make it through the winter. I had mine easily survive 17f degrees (-8.3c) but those weren't the ultra tropical varities. We hit 20f a few weeks ago and I would be shocked if any of them died.

![]() Most probably it will not. Our growe is old and native sp can handle temperature drops like this one was. Pruned and young trees will have damadges , bark will split and peel off on exposed locations. Large citrus fields south of me are heavily hit by this. My will be defoliated also but will come back.
