![]() The weather here in Low Country, SC has been very hot and dry. The lower leaves on my bananas are beginning to break and fall down around the stem. We have continues to water the trees well. Is this simply what happens as summer ends? The new leaves are slowing down at the top and the plant looks healthy except for the 3 to 5 slumping/fallen leaves.
Can I continue to add compost or should I begin mulching for winter? Thanks for any advice/answers. |

Answer:.....all banana plants do what you are sayin the do .......down to the last moment of summer..... ![]() Mine do. Advice:.....awesome keep it up.....compost to the very last moment... I am assuming that all growth will stop at frost ......correct? Cool weather will naturally stop and slow down all growth which is normal. Your plant knows when it is time to say no mas. ![]() |
