I wish you could mail a couple out to Calif, I'd love to try 'em out! Great photos, btw.
I can't be sure from looking - are the inside 'meats' of those striped like the outside? |

The flesh of the fruit is more of a pale orange color. The flesh is not variegated, but as you can see from the top photo, the peel is yellow and white striped. There are no restrictions in the state of california for me to ship banana fruit there. I am also in the process of getting certified with the florida dept. of agriculture to ship banana plants to california.

Are you seriously offering to mail some fruits? Payday is Friday, I'd love to buy a small bunch to try out if you're willing to go to the trouble! (My keyboard got stuck ... I gotta watch where I drool! LOL) I've never seen a photo of a peeled ae'ae - I wasn't sure if that photo was the skin or flesh. Okay ... I need glasses, badly.
Do you have to be CA certified to ship out corms our way, or is that just for plants? . |

Jeffrey,
I would love to try an AE AE fruit or two. PM me with a time I can stop by, I'll even bring you a tomato plant or two, or maybe a sugarloaf pineapple plant! Thanks for the offer, Brian

I was thinking $10 for two fruits shipped priority mail would be fair.

Wow! I am really happy to see someone posting a mature Ae Ae. The best news is that you are in Boynton Beach, that gives a lot of hope for growing the Ae Ae in all of south Florida. Is your plant in full sun? My ph is high but I think you have acid soil up there.

JNS,
We are in zone 10 just as you are, there is not any significant variability in the weather here compared to miami/homestead. AEAE is somewhat hardy and can be overwintered in colder areas (zone 8) if the stem is protected.
