Pinwheel Kru / Sunset Bananas

Has anyone had any success with the kru bananas fruting this year? I bought some this spring but I will have to wait another year or so to see them fruit. If you did can you post some pictures.

Thanks.

No fruit this year. Has fruited in the past. Very cold sensitive, like all reds, and barely hangs on through winter. Probably needs to see 50+ all year to thrive.

None of my Kru fruited this year but I did not expect bloom. They like a steady supply of water without overwatering. Mine went though 2 freezes early in the year, but most survived and grew several feet in 1 season. I have two that may fruit early next year. According to TREC Kru is the best tasting banana fruit behind Kofi. I am in zone 10 South Florida.

I don't believe it's the best tasting banana, too bland... In my book, goldfinger, ice cream, psyang raja, manzana, and raja puri are tops in my book.

I think that with all the varieties - it depends on the cultivar. You need to taste before you buy.
