Default just wow!!

I visited Angela Kepler today (Author of The World of Bananas In Hawaii) because i recently found out she lives right down the street. Little did i know her husband, Frank Rust, is from a Wilmington, DE.....where my dad is from. We started talking and discovered that we are blood related!! she has a book of the family tree and i showed her my name and she couldn't believe it. All this time we have lived next to each other and had no idea!!

anyways, i was there to purchase one of her banana books which go for around $80 and she was like don't you dare try to pay me. WOW!!! thanks Angela!!! what a caring person. She asked if i wanted to dig up some of her rare Hawaiian varieties of banana and i was more than stoked!! We walked around her beautiful property to different banana patches and dug up the ones she recommended.

1. Namwah
2. Dwarf Iholena (white)
3. Ae Ae......(2 of um)
4. Sucre

I offered money multiple times but she said i'm doing her a favor by continuing these rare strains of banana.

She wanted to keep going but i said this is enough for now. I will be back!!! She took me into her house and cooked fresh Ae Ae with garlic, oil, and salt. BOMB!!! today reminded me that there still is faith for Humanity!!! some people get more out of giving than receiving.

Pictures coming soon of the grow log

1. Just wondering if this recipe is good with saba also?
2. Are the naners cut thinly lengthwise,
at an angle or circular cut?
3. Can we substitute with caramelized
sugar instead of salt?

Thanx.
