Re: Just some updates of Bananas
Here is a small update for Sept 24
It has been pretty warm for the last few weeks. In the upper 80's low 90's and the plants are loving it! The D cavendish just before it was planted at the end of May. [url=https://flic.kr/p/YP7TcP] Today Sept 24 and the the pisang ceylon(to the left) has almost out grown it already [url=https://flic.kr/p/YLDG9y] Manzano is still going strong [url=https://flic.kr/p/XJwcy3]

Re: Just some updates of Bananas
Hey guys, things have cooled right down here. Upper 40'sF daytime mid to low 30's at night outside. To my surprise all the bananas in the GH are working on new leaves slowly but it's noticeable.
Nov 6 new DC leaf [url=https://flic.kr/p/21cEqqo] Pisang Ceylon pup new leaf [url=https://flic.kr/p/21hu5V6] It must be warm enough in there the papayas are starting to bounce back

Re: Just some updates of Bananas
I was wondering a few days ago how they are doing and if you still had your plants in the ground.

Re: Just some updates of Bananas
Hey everyone, all the bananas were dug up at the end of Dec. Sadly they all suffered cold damage so they had to be cut back. There were three holland papayas that were doing so well until December, couldn't believe that and then of course the cold took em out.
This is the dwarf cavendish that had the biggest stem. All trimmed up and ready to go! 01/20/18 [url=https://flic.kr/p/22gSzTK] Something I haven't really shown is the dwarf red. It seriously needs a re pot but it's starting to look nice. This member sends some serious corms! [url=https://flic.kr/p/22gTa1r]

This afternoon I planned out where the Dwarf Red is going to be planted and started to dig the hole. How wide should the holes be?? Temps have been on the rise. It looks like the weather will be steady in the lower 70's this week. I hope to be planting by first week of April. This years planting list Dwarf Cavendish Dwarf Red Pisang Ceylon Soon to be new additions this year.. Raja Puri & Grand nain
