It seems that the cryptic letters/numbers eBay assigns to the bidder history often has nothing to do with the users ID. I sometimes have a friend tell me they've bid on something and I can't tell it's them unless they tell me. Pete and I were once bidding against one another on an alocasia. I had sent him an e-mail telling him I was bidding on it but he didn't read the e-mail until I had bought it.

I often bid on Jeff's Cal Gold pups just in case the go cheap enough. I'd rather pay $25 for another Veinte Cohol than the $36 I bid on that last California Gold, though!

I didn't win it but got a second chance offer (at a high price) that I jumped on. One of the members here has a pup we're trading for so by the end of season I'll have 3. If they bear fruit it will be (unoficially) "Jersey Platinum".

Someone on here today me he would do that so I thought I would see and he did. I know Jeff and your claim of shill bidding is unwarrranted. I bid on one of his pups last year since the price was low at the time even though I already have a mat of CG (would have given it to family). I told Jeff I had bid and Jeff wrote me and told me that my bid wasn't needed to drive the price up. I don't think Jeff has edited his auction description for a couple of years but he should get that fixed but there sure isn't anything for eBay to be investigating.

You stated you are sure he was shill bidding, a violation of eBay rules. Yet you say now you weren't making an outright accusation. Maybe you worded it stronger initially than you meant. Then, when I explain that what you stated was happening with shill bidding wasn't happening, you make a comment that seems to indicate you still think he has done it and give a smirk smiley.

Sometimes his auctions have said "this is the only one I have for now." As I recall, a couple of years ago someone (not a member here) got a second chance offer of something like $181 and they took it. Some buyers are downright silly, IMO. Still, it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise to you since Bob said it happened to him back in 2009.

Jeff is a casual friend and my comments here are not influenced by that except for how that has helped me know what has gone on. We correspond via email maybe 5-10 years ago and have met in person twice. We mostly chat about things other than bananas such as miracle fruit, papaya, and fishing.

In your location you probably should be making choices other than CG anyways since you don't really need to be that concerned about hardiness.

There is absolutly no " Shill bidding" on my part.
Come on I sell very few banana pups on ebay... hense there is little money to gain anyway.

If you'll note on my listing....

This is a fat pup. I was blessed with a few more pups this summer .

Next spring I may have a couple more pups for now this is the last one.

Once that the price went up to certain price ....I ( rightfully so ) decided to offer you one of the "few more pups". You took me up on the second chance offer. If you in anyway want to change your mind about this, contact me via ebay in the next 48 hours and I will refund your money no questions asked.

I think if you check your email, you'll see an apology. Before you wrote this.
But yes you state "Next spring I may have a couple more pups for now this is the last one." which is why it looked fishy to me, when you state you have one left and then I lose but I get a second chance at another one. Just looked fishy.
