we got plants & corms yesterday in mail while I was at work, they got potted this morning after soil mix had time to warm over night inside!!
Was chatting with a another plant growing feind this morning he asked if the white butterfly ginger can be eaten? I'm not sure as got for bloom. Thanks Again, Dan & Tara, kids

It's not the edible ginger from what I understand, its grown for its ornamental foliage.

if you are talking about Hedychium coronarium here is what some of my references say:
Flowers: Young buds & flowers are eaten or used as a flavoring [Plants for Human Consumption, Cornucopia:A Source Book of Edible Plants]. Roots: cooked. A famine food used when all else fails [Plants for Human Consumption] of course it always pays to check multiple references, especially if you are unsure. |

All parts of all Gingers can be eaten. Some are have better flaver than others. Some are best for their roots and some are better for their flowers. I do not remember which ones sre best for what.
