I´m looking for information about Musa Dwarf Nino.
Does anybody know from personal experience at which height Musa Dwarf Nino fruits in container. What`s the maximum height of this plant?

Does it fruit readily? Did anybody get it to fruit yet?

I would be glad to get any information possible.

Nino, will fruit at about 6' in a container . In my S.Fl. climate, in the ground, it took about 10mos. to fruit at a height of 8-9'. I don't know how it will respond to your conditions, but here it is a vigorous plant.

Do you think Logee`s Dwarf Ladyfinger could be a Dwarf Nino, if you compare the Photos to your Dwarf Nino.

The D.Nino is definitely not the same plant as the Logee's. Just finished a Nino fruit,what a great tasting banana!

Once a person has tasted a Nino banana, will never forget the taste. They are also called datile (dates) banana, because of their delicious sweet taste.
Loved them as a child and still do. They are delicious when fried in batter and also in an omelet for breakfast.

i was watching diners,drive ins and dives the other night and they did an omlette with a nana, i thought it was interesting. ive never had one with a nana before. sounds yummy.

Brian, why do you say that? Do you have both? I'm just curious because I remember someone posted last year that Agristart's description for Dwarf Nino was the same as Logee's Dwarf Ladyfinger.

Yeah. That was me. And I still maintain that they are the same plant. Especially, with similar colorations, growing habits, fruit description, and interestingly, the flattening of the trunk when they are young making them look like the Traveler's Palm. Jarred posted a picture of his young Lady Finger that had a flattening at the base of the leaf petioles, and I thought I was looking at a picture of my own D. Niños. Unfortuantely, I'll have to wait another couple of years to show what my 2 Dwarf Niños would look like, because they are reduced to baby corms from being in a cold green house. Next winter, I'll put them in a much warmer section.

Loggee's must be buying all the Dwarf Niños from Agristarts because I haven't seen them available for a long time.

Yes, I do have both, and have fruited both plants. They are not the same! You don't have to look too close to see the difference. The Loges's fruits at 3' in the ground, or potted, and the fruit are longer, and not as fat as the Nino. Next time I get home,I'll try to remember to post pictures of both plants!

I have the Nino and have see the Logee's in person.In my opinion ,They are different.

Is there a great deal of difference between the Nino and D. Nino ?
For instance,the fruit are crazy different with Orinoco and it's dwarf counterpart. Is size the only real difference with this one? tia

I gotta tell you guys that this is my favorite plant right now !
Mine is just over 6' to the tip of the tallest leaf with just under 3' of p-stem and it looks like a spiral staircase (double spiral staircase I guess) or some sort of giant round drillbit. Beautiful !
I can't wait to get a bloom .

I have pics but can't post em' right now...destroyed my laptop and I'm workin with a dino-puter .

Derail- Isn't that a great show? I just love it. Only problem is I usually watch the DVR recordings late at night after I get Mom to bed, and then I raid the kitchen after watching. And then I wonder where my belly comes from. Duh! LOL
